This year it seems retailers are being more creative than ever in their Easter offerings (we’re looking at you, Waitrose chocolate avocado egg!) and we’re particularly egg-cited to try Lidl’s seasonal Hot Cross Bun Ice Cream.
According to the shop, it’s ‘luxury dairy ice cream made with British double cream and whole milk, swirled through with cinnamon sauce and juicy raisins.’
It basically sounds like a more spicy version of our beloved rum and raisin, and we are completely on board.
It’s available for £1.99 for 480ml from today for a limited time.

In other bun-related news (a hot topic in the Yours office) there have been reports that hot cross buns will be more expensive in the UK this year because Californian farmers have struggled to meet the demand for raisins. The price of raisins has risen by 50 per cent in America since September because the volume produced is down 8 per cent on last year.
