As if the unpredictable and often cloudy, grey British summer days aren’t bad enough, research shows they can having a serious effect on our health. The latest report by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition has revealed that the UK needs to increase its daily intake of Vitamin D in the absence of strong enough sunlight, which in turn provides us with insufficient levels of UVB radiation.
Asda is hoping to bring a bit of sunshine to the UK and the nation’s need for Vitamin D by giving away its supplements for free. As an on going commitment to customer health, Asda is giving away 50,000 units of Vitamin D to tackle the issue head on, particularly the rising deficiency levels in children.
