The UK's favourite dog names revealed

When it comes to naming our pets, man’s best friend is getting more of man - and woman’s - names over traditional pet names with Bella, Alfie and Poppy topping the list of names you’re most likely to hear being called by the nation’s dog owners.
While Charlotte, Amelia and Olivia are popular girl’s names for babies born so far in 2015, Bella takes the crown of most popular female dog name followed closely by last year’s winner Poppy, with Molly in third place, according to research by pet insurer MoneySuperMarket.
Teddy is the only newcomer in the list this year
Popular human boy names in 2015 include Oliver, Jack and Charlie - and one of those has crept into the top three for dogs too. Whilst Alfie takes the top spot for the second year running, Charlie reappears as the second most popular male dog name and with Max in third. Finally, Teddy is the only newcomer in the list this year, replacing Barney, and is the seventh most popular choice.
