The world of technology is changing at a pace where we can barely keep up from one gadget to the next. It can seem such a waste to buy a new laptop, tablet or smartphone when we already have an alternative, but often we are left with no choice when old models are made obsolete when parts or programs are discontinued.
But Age UK has come up with a handy solution to all our technological clutter. If you've got old or unwanted computer equipment, simply visit www.ageuk.org.uk/recycleIT and donate it through their recycling scheme.
The website will value your proudct and then direct you to a local store, where you can drop off your equipment for free using the Collect + parcel service.
Any money raised in the process (as the value of your product will automatically be donated to Age UK) will go towards supporting the charity's services. So you can tidy up and contribute to the support of older people in need.
A quick word to the wise, though: remember to transfer any files you might want to keep first, and delete anything from the gadget that you would't want anyone else to be peeking at!
