1. Natural wonder
I’m a big fan of using natural elements in the home - I love timber for its texture and tones and it can be used in the home in a large or small way to ground a space - think an oak timber dinner table, timber, serving boards or utensils in the kitchen.
2. It's all in the edit
Not everything needs to be out on display so avoid visual clutter by editing your displays. Think about sideboards and coffee tables. The trick is to make sure everything is practical but also never forget the visual appeal - but by all means put all your favourite things on display.
3. Flower power
Fresh flowers in the home are an instant pick me up, and they don't need to be expensive. Stick to one colour or type of flower for visual impact.
4. Embrace colour
Be bold and use colour in your décor. There’s no need to go too crazy but even the smallest pop of colour can brighten your day. The bathroom is the easiest place to experiment with colour so update your bathroom with colourful towels and a new shower curtain for instant impact.
5. A home for everything
Think about where your things go and have a home for everything. Use clever ways to store things, it’s all about being organised. I’m a big fan of containers, jars and boxes so get organised! For our tips on the best storage devices, click here
