On Friday September 26, kettles will be rumbling and crumbs scattering for one of the UK's most original and successful charity fundraising events. Now in its 24th year, last year’s coffee morning alone raised £20.5m, which went towards continuing Macmillan’s wonderful work in ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.
To mark the special occasion, iconic designer Celia Birtwell has created a bespoke set of limited edition badges, which are available to buy now throughout M&S stores. Whilst there’s no fixed price for the badges, Macmillan are asking for a suggested donation of £2 per set.
Bold, beautiful and designed in Birtwell’s distinctive style, Macmillan hopes everyone will proudly wear these colourful badges to share the news of the coffee morning from person to person, kitchen to kitchen, around the country.
To help the cause, M&S are also donating 5p from every coffee and cake sold in its Cafés and 20p for every Victoria Sponge sold in its Food Halls to Macmillan. You can also pick up a Macmillan Cupcake Kit for a suggested donation of £2 if you fancy getting your hands sticky.
If you think you’d like to gather your family and friends together for your own coffee morning on September 26, you can visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee, call 0845 602 1246 or text COFFEE to 70550 to get your own Coffee Morning Kit.
We’re very excited to be holding our very own Macmillan coffee morning in the Yours office. We'd love to hear if you’re planning one and what you’ll be baking for the occasion.
