What they say...

Olverum (true oil) is a unique and luxurious aromatic blend of essential oils. With just a few drops in your bath, these carefully chosen extracts combine to help ease stress and relax tension in both mind and body, bringing you back to your complete and natural self.

What our tester thought...

The oil was colourless and didn't change the appearance of the water - it's not one for fans of bubbles. You only need a few drops (five per bath) but it was quite hard to measure this accurately - I did think that a dropper like the sorts used on facial oils might have been helpful, as it would be easy to slip your wrist and end up with a very expensive bath! That really was the main issue for me - the price. Assuming you did get the drops right, each bottle is meant to last for 25 baths, but I still feel £23.50 is an awful lot to pay for a bath treat, especially when there are some other, cheaper products on the market which feel just as skin-soothing.

That said, I love the use of essential oils in Olverum, and how natural its ingredients list is. The overiding scent is quite piney, and it is designed to soothe aching muscles and aid sleep - I did sleep like a log afterwards. It's an old formula, first sold in 1931, and it clearly works some sort of magic when it comes to relaxing a tired body.

It's a pricey treat for anyone who loves essential oils, and doesn't mind a non-bubbly bath.
