If you're undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, you'll know only too well how draining the process can be. Aside from feeling poorly, the loss of your hair, brows and eyelashes can give your self-esteem a bash too. That's why cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better has launched a free confidence kit packed with expert advice to help you tackle the visible signs of your treatment in the comfort of your own home.
The kit, produced in support with Avon Cosmetics, includes a DVD and 48-page booklet with guidance on skincare and make-up, wig selection and styling, alternative head coverings and nail care. All of the DVD models are real women featured during or after treatment, with genuine concerns.
Look Good Feel Better has been running its confidence-boosting skincare and make-up workshops in the UK since 1994 and to date has supported more than 115,000 women and teenagers.
“The therapeutic and psychological benefit of women wearing make-up has been well documented, and we know from running our free skincare and make-up workshops in the UK for over 21 years that this is even more relevant for women undergoing treatment for cancer," says Sarahjane Robertson, Look Good Feel Better Executive Director.
"It’s not always possible for ladies to attend one of our Workshops or Masterclasses, whether that’s due to location or that they may be too unwell to leave home or hospital. Our Confidence Kit will help us to reach our objective of being able to offer support to every women undergoing cancer treatment in the UK."
