Get the Oscars look of your favourite stars

Whilst the stars had their eyes on the gongs on Sunday night, we all had our eyes on how they were dressed. But such glamorous looks needn't be just reserved for the red carpet and film stars. You can recreate them from the comfort of your own home for your parties, weddings and evening 'dos'.

Forget hair stylists and beauticians too- all it takes to get the Oscars looks of your favourite stars is just these few simple tips from Asda's beauty team and their top celebrity hairdresser, Andrew Barton, who has tended to the tresses of stars including  Penny Lancaster and Jerry Hall.

Get the Julianne Moore look

For a red carpet event, you can’t go wrong with a sleek chignon and a dark pout. And Julianne Moore was a vision of elegance this weekend at the Oscars, with a slicked back side-parting and sequinned Chanel gown.

To get Julianne’s sweeping up-do, apply two drops of the Andrew Barton Miracle Frizz Tamer Super Gloss Serum (£5 or 2 for £6) to damp hair before blow-drying, adding shine and controlling frizz.

Blow-dry the hair straight, then smooth into a side parting, brushing the hair to the nape of the neck. Pin into a chignon (watch how to do a chignon if you're unsure here). And finish the style using a spritz of the Andrew Barton Hair Heroes Leave in Shine and Gloss Spray (£3.90 or 2 for £6) to smooth the cuticles of the hair and create a gorgeous, glossy shine.

Get the Reese Witherspoon look

Reese Witherspoon's straight and bouncy look was understated, stunning and the perfect compliment to her show-stopping black and white gown. With a neat middle parting, the hair was perfectly blow-dried with a beautiful bounce.

To achieve the simple yet elegant look, moisture the hair with the Miracle Frizz Tamer Power Dose Deep Conditioning Mask (£1) and leave in for three minutes to strengthen and reduce frizz, then rinse. Section hair into a middle parting and blow-dry straight. To add bounce, use a large round brush to blow-dry medium sized sections of the hair in an upwards motion.

To keep the style in place use a holding spray like the Andrew Barton Big Hair Lifting Juice (£3.90 or 2 for £6).
