The first step with this look is to achieve the volume by working on the root lift, the styling comes in at the end. After cleansing and conditioning, towel-dry your hair before applying Naturtint Styling Mousse and combing through. Use a large barrel brush to dry the hair under, working from the lowest layers at the nape of the neck. Once the hair is completely dry and you have achieved a good level of volume, use your fingertips or a wide tooth comb to pull the hair back and away from your face. This will help to keep the volume, but create the movement seen in this style. Finish with a little hairspray or styling wax.
Longer hair? Try Julia Roberts' casual up-do
Messy, laidback hairstyles are best achieved on hair that hasn't been freshly washed – perfect if you are short on time. Gently backbrush hair at the crown to achieve height and to create a good base to pin the rest of your hair to. Pull hair into a loose ponytail at the nape of the neck – don't worry about being neat or getting your ponytail perfectly centre. If you have a fringe or side parting, pull out any loose sections of hair from the ponytail to frame the face and soften the style. Take small sections of the loose ponytail and wrap around your fingers and then pin around and above the ponytail using grips – let the ends fall loosely. Repeat until all the ponytail has been pinned and finish with a light misting of hairspray.
Curly, mid-length hair can look as stunning as Michelle's
This style is easier to achieve on hair that has some natural wave and movement and one of the gentlest ways to do it is to use a diffuser. Apply Naturtint Styling Mousse to towel-dried hair and comb through using a wide tooth comb. Using your fingers, lift handfuls of hair and drop into the diffuser allowing the hair to fall and sit in natural curls. Use a gentle, low setting on your hairdryer to dry the hair and if possible, once dry, use the cool setting to fix the curl, before releasing the hair. Once you have curled all your hair, tip your head upside down and spritz with hairspray for maximum volume.
