Continue in established pattern, knitting one less st between dec and changing to dpns when necessary. Cut yarn, leaving a 6-in. tail. Using a tapestry needle, thread the tail through the rem sts on the needles. Pull the yarn, gathering sts tightly together, then secure the tail on the WS of work.

Birthday Candle
With 2 dpns and White, CO 7 sts.
Work I-Cord (see p.134) for 14 rnds.
Cut White, attach Yellow eyelash, and work 3 rnds.
Cut Yellow eyelash and, using a tapestry needle, thread the Yellow eyelash and White tails through the rem sts on the needle and pass all tails through the inside of the I-Cord.

Using those tails, attach the candle securely to the tip of the hat for a candle that will never burn out! Make French Knots with Red to create sprinkles on the top of your cupcake.

Thread a tapestry needle with White, pinch the hat at the Green pure rnd, and create a Welt by sewing together the top and bottom pieces using even running stitches.

Weave in all loose ends. Now it’s birthday time!
