We were so pleased to see that Charlotte joined the cast of season four of the Netflix hit show You. She plays art gallery director Kate, a character who is very different from herself.

"I haven't found something as challenging for a really long time. Actually, I always find it difficult… it's a boring refrain that the people close to me have to hear me say – I never quite feel like I can do it" She told Radio Times. "My character is very well turned out and very icy, at least at the beginning... it's just not like me, that character. So it was interesting and it was challenging, I have to say."

Ghosts

Charlotte starred in the BBC One sitcom, Ghosts in the role of Alison. The series begins after Alison and her partner Mike inherit a family home. Their plans to turn it into a wonderful family home are put on hold when they realise the house is haunted and the ghosts want them out.

While the actress has confessed she doesn't believe in ghosts, she still says she wouldn't stay the night at the show's mansion: "There is one particular room that is really cold and that definitely feels really spooky."

Call the Midwife

Charlotte played Nurse Barbara Hereward (was Gilbert) who joined the cast in series 4 of Call the Midwife. After getting married to Trixie’s ex-fiancé, Tom Hereward, played by Jack Ashton, series 7 began with the pair settling into married life...but ended in tragedy.

How could any fan of Call the Midwife forget Nurse Barbara's devastating final moments before sadly dying from septicaemia? Talking to RadioTimes.com, Charlotte reflected on those heartbreaking final scenes and how it was to film them.

"My character, nurse Barbara Gilbert, just basically died and it really was the end," she says. "There was no ‘Please come back whenever you like’. It was like, ‘You can’t’. I still get people messaging me saying they are in floods of tears over my death."

Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Turner and is married to the series' writer Heidi Thomas says: “Barbara’s so full of life but this illness is vicious and it has a knock-on effect on everyone because they’re like a family. It’s a crisis and a terrible worry but they have to carry on as professionals.”

Feel Good

Appearing in the Netflix comedy-drama Feel Good from 2020 to 2021, Charlotte played George, the girlfriend of recovering addict and comedian Mae.
