Royal Mail issues four new stamps in memory of Prince Philip

After his very sad passing in April 2021 aged 99, the Royal Mail have announced that they'll be releasing four very special new stamps to commemorate the late Royal who was married to Her Majesty the Queen for over 70 years.

The four new stamps are all in black and white and show theDuke of Edinburgh at different stages of his life.

Prince Philip's life in pictures

The first 2nd Class stamp shows Prince Philip as a young man.

The 1st Class stamp pictures Prince Philip attending the passing out parade of Prince Andrew at Dartmouth Naval College, Devon.

The £1.70 stamp shows the Duke at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The £2.55 stamp is a professional photograph taken by photographer Terry O’Neill.

Simon Thompson, CEO, Royal Mail said: ”Throughout adulthood, The Duke of Edinburgh dedicated himself to the service of this country, the Commonwealth and to the many causes he was involved with. For more than seven decades he was at the centre of our national life. His passing is a key moment in our history which we mark with this set of commemorative stamps”.

The stamps will be on sale from June 24, and will be presented in a miniature sheet priced at £6.65. You can now pre-order your sheet here.
