The eldest child of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor is 15th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Having attended recent important events such as King Charles' Coronation beside her parents and younger brother, Lady Louise is stepping out into the royal spotlight. She's also quickly turning into a royal style icon, after her beautiful floral dress decorated with irises was a hit and one of our favourite coronation outfits.

How old is Lady Louise Windsor?

Born on November 8 2003, Louise is currently 19 years old.

Louise was born prematurely at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey after her mother was rushed there by ambulance from her home at Bagshot Park, Surrey. Lady Louise was born via C-section due to placental abruption, which caused severe blood loss to both Louise and the Countess of Wessex.

She has one sibling, a younger brother James.

Lady Louise Windsor's esotropia

Born with esotropia, a form of eye misalignment characterised by an inwards turn of one or both eyes, Louise underwent an operation in an unsuccessful attempt to correct the problem in 2006. She went on to have further treatment in late 2013 that corrected her eyes.

Lady Louise's mother was so inspired by her daughter's journey to correct her eye condition that she is now a patron of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

What is Louise's title?

When her parents were married, the Queen announced that the couples' children would be styled as the children of an earl, rather than as prince or princess, so Louise is referred to as Lady Louise Windsor.

In 2011, Louise was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton when she was seven years old.

In August 2022, it was confirmed that she will attend St Andrews University, the school where her cousin Prince William met Catherine.

Taught to horseback ride at a young age, Louise has also taken up carriage driving, a sport made popular in Britain by her grandfather, Prince Philip. She went on to inherit Prince Philip's driving ponies and carriage in April 2021 following his death.
