Whether you're a bit of a daredevil, or you know someone who loves adventures, wing walking is an incredible experience you and your loved ones will never forget.

Wing walking dates back to the 1920s; it originated in America, where post-WWI soldiers/pilots who had been flying aircraft in combat found themselves with an abundance of aeroplanes.

This allowed them to purchase planes for a relatively low amount, which led to stunt pilots flying over cities and villages, offering people plane rides in exchange for money. However, people quickly grew bored of this and so the stunt pilots started to take people wing walking, as this was much more thrilling.

And ever since then, the activity has grown to be very popular, and highly regulated - so even though you will be between 100 and 700 feet up in the air, you will be very safe.

How does wing walking work?

Despite what you may have seen on the internet, you most likely will not be doing any aerobatic moves and the plane will not flip upside down. This is because wing walking is quite an extreme sport already.

Wing walking works as follows:

You'll be strapped onto the top wing of a biplane, with a five-point harness. Contrary to the name, you will be stationary and securely strapped throughout the flight; you won't actually be able to walk or move along the wing.
