Keep track of your post-Christmas weight loss with a new website that will tell you the number of calories you burn on one of your favourite walks.

Launched by Forestry Commission Engand, the website contains a selection of calorie burning walks, cycle routes and runs across the country. The good news is that even the smallest effort can bring about big results, with a leisurely 1.5 mile woodland stroll burning up to 270 calories. Surrounding yourself with natural beauty, and getting some air (and hopefully sunshine) will also do wonders for your mood - it's no wonder that 88 per cent of people think forests are an ideal location for exercise.
