We’ve all got our own idea of the ‘correct’ way to make a cuppa, but when This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford made a cup of tea on ITV’s new Sunday version of This Morning, she sparked a debate amongst of viewers on how to make the perfect cup of tea.
The 58-year-old presenter provoked an outcry on social media after she added the milk to her cup before the tea but she didn't realise she was doing anything out of the ordinary. Asked if the controversy caught her by surprise, she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It did a bit, because I've never really thought about it!
"I always put my milk in first if I’ve got tea in a teapot, I've never really thought about it but when all that debate happened on social media I realised if I make tea in a mug with a tea bag I put the milk in afterwards, but when it's in a teapot I always put the milk in first. Don't ask me why, that's how I roll."
We’re loving Ruth on the new Sunday This Morning show. Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards, she said: "It's a highlight show of all the best bits of the week and so many people I know can't always watch This Morning live as they are at work so to have all the highlights of the week is a really nice show to do."
