We've seen him fired out of a cannon and shimmy everything he's got every Saturday night on Strictly Come Dancing. But now astrologer to the stars, Russell Grant, has donned his finest fedora and trench coat to play Orson Welles in the tongue-in-cheek music video promo for London art-rock band, Leapfrogtown.
In the video, Russell auditions for a fictional movie part alongside Catherine Shipton, who played loveable Casualty star, Duffy, for many years and recently made a one-off return cameo in the show.
Russell and Catherine appear in the film noir pastiche with Leapfrogtown's lead singer Chris Guard and guitarist Stuart Walton, who play director and cameraman in the video for the band’s upcoming single Dreaming in Public.
Russell has previously worked with Chris Guard- also a respected actor of stage and screen – in 1972 in the musical Tom Brown's Schooldays at the Cambridge Theatre.
“It has been a lot of fun to be able to reconnect with my dear friend as he paves an exciting new direction with his band, Leapfrogtown” Russell says. “We had a great time performing together in the 1970s so I didn’t need a great deal of convincing to take part in the music video.
"To be asked to appear in the Dreaming in Public music video was a must for me. Orson Welles is one of my all-time heroes.”
