Lynda Bellingham’s memoir, There’s Something I’ve Been Dying to Tell You, will top the adult bestseller lists for a third week.

Figures released today show sales in all formats of more than 150,000 copies – making it a strong contender to be the bestselling book this Christmas.

Lynda's widower Michael Pattemore said: "The response to the book has meant so much to us. Lynda would be over the moon – and especially at all the news we are getting about how what she has said has helped so many people. For the boys and me, that’s the best-ever memorial we can have for her.“

Written and published in her final months, There’s Something I’ve Been Dying to Tell You is a brave and inspiring memoir which Lynda – our much loved Yours columnist – wrote while suffering from terminal bowel cancer.

She was a gifted storyteller and while her book is at times heart-breaking, it is also full of humour and courage. The book has - as she intended - helped many people to talk about illness and death in a more honest way.

Gyles Brandreth, one of Lynda's close friends, said: "Lynda was brave, beautiful, brilliant, funny and fabulous. Her story is inspiring, profoundly moving and absolutely Lynda. She would have been thrilled beyond words to find that her book had become a number one bestseller. That's the equivalent of a standing ovation.”

But it’s not just the book that is still having an impact. Lynda’s amazing courage and spirit has inspired thousands of Yours readers to give to a Yours appeal set up in her name.

The appeal is in aid of three charities that were close to Lynda’s heart – Action Against Cancer, Macmillan and Marie Curie nurses.

The fund is still open. If you’d like to donate, visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/YoursMagazine or to make a donation by post send a cheque payable to one of the three charities and  send it to the Yours Lynda Bellingham
Appeal, Media House, Peterborough Business Park, Peterborough PE2 6EA.

Visitors to this year’s Yours live event – an annual gathering of Yours readers – will also have the chance to remember Lynda by putting a pink bow on a special Christmas tree.

One of Lynda’s dearest wishes was to live to see Christmas. We’re just hoping her book will still be number one at Christmas time – a fitting tribute to a wonderful woman.

Lynda’s book is published by Hodder.

In the issue of Yours out on November 25 we will update you on the latest appeal news and the amount raised.

Oxo ad to run again

The 1984 Oxo advert starring Lynda Bellingham is to be screened on Christmas Day as a tribute to the actress, it has been announced.

Lynda became a household name thanks to the stock cube commercials, which ran from 1983 to 1999. Oxo said hundreds of thousands of fans had contacted the firm after her death, asking for the ad to be repeated.

The My Christmas advert will be shown on ITV at a time still to be confirmed, and will also be available online.
