Bradley Walsh's special tribute to Dame Vera Lynn

Dame Vera Lynn is loved and admired by so many of us. But now one special star and Yours favourite, Bradley Walsh, has joined the list of celebrity fans who are going to be paying a special tribute to the Forces Sweetheart as part of the 100: A Tribute to Dame Vera Lynn concert at the London Palladium later this month.

The Chase presenter and all-round funny man, Bradley, has joined a stellar line-up of stars honouring the We'll Meet Again singer, including Aled Jones, Alexander Armstrong, Russell Watson, Brian Blessed, Anita Harris, Bonnie Langford, to name but a few.

"To be asked to work on this tribute to Dame Vera is an honour and one I shall cherish," says Bradley.

"To have your name recognised by almost everyone in the country is true testament to the impact Dame Vera has had on our industry and to work on the stage that the great lady has graced many times is a thrill."

Tickets are still available for Vera's birthday concert on March 18, all the proceeds of which will be donated to The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity which supports children with cerebral palsy and other motor-learning disabilities.

The Chelsea Pensioners, Pearlie Kings and Queens of London, Swingtime Sweethearts, 1960s Tiller Girls, Young and Second Generation Dancers, Maida Vale Singers and young performers from all over the UK are also set to appear in the tribute show for Dame Vera.

Dame Vera said of the concert and her milestone birthday.

“To have reached my hundredth year is in itself an achievement - with all the many memories that one collects over the years, the different places and the wonderful people one meets and the many, many fans from across the world who have supported me.

“The show on March 18 will be a wonderful evening, as many of my dear friends from the business will be performing and I am delighted that it is helping to raise vital funds for my charity.

“The Palladium holds very special memories for me, and I am thrilled that the Royal Air Force Dance Orchestra, The Squadronaires, will be there as my late husband was a founding member.”
