It has been revealed that Neighbours star, Alan Fletcher, would love a move to the cobbles of Corrie one day. The actor has portrayed Dr Karl Kennedy in the Australian soap since 1994 but when asked if he’d like to appear in Coronation Street during a recent interview, he replied: “I’d be gagging to do that.”
He also added that he’d like to see Dr Karl put his medical knowledge to the test in a guest role on British daytime soap Doctors too. “I think (British soaps) are all fabulous shows, they deserve to be highly regarded.”
Alan’s comments come shortly after Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas, who previously played Jason Grimshaw has joined the cast of Channel 5 soap Neighbours. Alan explained how quickly Ryan has fit in Down Under. “He walked into our cast and suddenly became best friends with everybody. He’s such a wonderful guy, a very good actor and he’s got terrific character. There’s a real mystery around his character.” 33 year-old Ryan made his Neighbours debut in the hour-long special episode which was aired February 12th.
