- Lay a few slices of smoked ham flat on a plate and top the cheese, thinly sliced.
- Microwave on medium–low for 2–3 minutes, until the cheese has melted.
- Meanwhile, toast 4 crumpets. Spread the crumpets with butter and some Dijon mustard.
- Top with the ham and melted cheese. Season with pepper and a little salt if necessary.
