Measurements: Finished size: 97.5x90cm(38 1/2x35 1/2in)

Materials:

  • Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino
  • 7 50g balls Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino shade 012 Silver (MC)
  • 2 50g balls Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino shade 204 Baby Blue
  • 1 50g ball Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in each of following shades: 078 Lipstick, 001 Primrose, 068 Peach Melba, 002 Apple, 006 Candy Pink, 059 Mallard, 034 Red, 101 Ecru
  • Pair 3.25mm (UK 10) knitting needles
  • Yarn needle

Yarn quantities are based on average requirements when specified tension and yarn is used. Different wool may be used but ensure tension of replacement yarn matches that stated in the pattern for best results.

Tension: 25 sts and 27 rows = 10cm/4in square over Fair Isle patt in st-st using 3.25mm needles or the size required to give the correct tension. It is essential to work to the stated tension to ensure success.

Abbreviations:
cm - centimetres; cont - continue; dec - decrease(ing); in – inch(es); k – knit; MC - main wool colour; mm - millimeters; p - purl; patt – pattern; rem - remain(ing); rep - repeat; RS - right side; st(s) - stitch(es); st-st – stocking stitch (knit RS rows, purl WS rows); WS - wrong side.

Moss-st:
1st row *k1,p1; rep from * to end.
2nd row *p1, k1; rep from * to end.

Notes:
Charts are read right to left on odd-numbered (RS) rows and left to right on even-numbered (WS) rows. Repeats are shown within the black outline. Where a repeat is shown work from the start of the chart to the last stitch inside the outline, begin again at first stitch inside black outline and continue this to the last few stitches.

Follow Charts 1–12 in turn. That is, work Rows 1 to10 or Chart one followed by rows 1 to 16 of chart 2 etc.

Strand colours not in use loosely on WS of work.
   
Pattern:
Using MC, cast on 244sts.
Work in moss-st for 14 rows.
Cont to work moss-st for 10sts each side of 224sts of chart, working chart in st-st between, creating a moss st border.
Cont patt on charts 1–12 until all chart rows completed.
Work in moss-st for 14 rows.
Cast off.

 

 

Make-up:
Sew in ends.
Refer to ball band for washing and further care instructions.
   
Yours top tip: Use a row counter on the end of your needle, to keep track of where you are in the pattern. If you don’t have a row counter, you can strike off the numbers down the right side of the chart as you complete the rows.
