I have bought a long bamboo shoot in a plastic tube from Lidl and I'm not sure what I should do with it ... do I plant it, I don't want it to die on me?

I have mine in a long thin vase full of water which I change once a week. It seems to like it the bathroom as I have had if for about four years.

I've had mine for about 4 years now, and it takes very little looking after. I keep it in a vase with about inch of water in the bottom and it's growing quite nicely
