Hi looby loo i have this also and do find it very hard to pace myself! Infact it is my main problem! When I am feeling better I don't I just get on with life as normal, even if it means 'paying for it' later, otherwise I would go mad I think lol i used to teach dancing and was alwasy fit and enjoyed physical things, so hate not to feel that buzz sometimes...It is not always bad it does go away fro spells, and is worse with stress, and as i live on my own its not easy to cope with it sometimes, my doctor has just put me on a new tablet a newer type of amytryptiline, and it seems to be taking me less time to recover right now, also my doctor is looking itnto hydrotherapy as heat ie in a bath or the sunshine really helps. Its not pleasant but there are good times and you can still do things in between....so you take care and try to keep your chim up and keep smiling if you can! hugs xxx

I have had fybromyalgia 20 years. to manage it my doctor prescribes 10 mg of amatryptalin to be taken at night this ensures I can sleep without the pain disturbing my sleep.( it is recommended by specialists in fybromyalgia)I also avoid wheat and try not to have a lot of dairy products.Food Combining for health by Dr Hay (The Hay Diet )helps a lot if you can keep to it.I do have flare ups now and again but when I compare how some people are in wheelchairs and I can lead a normal life I think I have learned to balance it very well.Hope this helps you Incidentally I told my Doctor I did not want to become addicted to the Amatryptalin and he told me the dose I take is a childs dose and i would not become addicted.Kind Regards Paulina

Hi Looby Lou, I too have fibromyalgia, it is a terrible dibilitating illness isnt it. I suffer from lots of aches and pains but was diagnosed last year by my rhuemy.I also have osteoporosis so with the two things i have to be really careful. Pacing is easier said than done and I find on good days I do to much as I feel like I have to catch up on jobs I missed on bad days if that makes sense!!! I take various tablets such as Lyrica for pain topped up with paracetamol and have tried others too but nothing really seems to work for me much yet. Just have to keep trying. I go for physio and have had the help of the occupational therapist who have been really good. So I have been lucky that way. I just wish that the pain would ease up a bit some days. I hope you are getting the help you need. Let us know how you are getting on it does help chatting to others in the same position Gentle Hugs Sue

I have this condition and have not yet got to grips with paceing myself its very frustrating as people dont understand, as there is nothing to show outwardly and the symptons are so many. Some GPs dont seem to take it seriously.
