Living alone I find that most foods are being catered for familes. I have found that a local shop sells prepacked meat for £9.99 plus a free cooked chicken thrown in, plus 10% on some days for OAPs. This consists of a joint, chicken thighs/legs, sausages, chops. these I split up and cut the joint in half and I end up with 8 meals. I also do the same with vegetables which I freeze into meal sizes. Hope my ideas help other people in similar circumstances.

RE: Shopping Top Tip
Hi Beryl, I do that with a lot of things for example if I buy a fruit pie I put it into the fridge first to chill then cut it into 4 and freeze them separately, the packs of 4 muffins if they are on special offer(and if I want to buy them) I separate them and freeze them, sometimes I'm really cheeky, if I get talking to someone in the supermarket and we are looking at the same thing that is a buy one get on free I suggest one of us buys it and split the cost (usually its someone my age and circumstances) first did that years ago when a moisturiser was on offer there was only two left so myself and this other lady decided that we'd share and we both got a bottle much cheaper than buying just one at normal price.

Lucky uou to have such a shop in your area, it sounds great. I do not like chicken personally , but could use it to entertain my children who seem to eat it almost all the time. The next time I go into town, Chesterfield, will check out the butcher, thanks for the tip
