Help me find reasonable travel insurance when I have pre-existing medical conditions
By Yours Travel Expert
Price is important when you’re looking for a travel insurance product, but it’s also essential to make sure you choose a policy that gives you the cover you need without paying over the odds for unnecessary extras. And, of course, it’s important to choose the best travel insurance for your age group. You have to read the small print before you take out an insurance policy to ensure you get the protection you need, as some policies offer greater cover for cash or baggage, for example, than others. When Which? last carried out their research into the Best Buy products for travel insurance, they found that at least half of companies appearing in their tables did not charge extra for pre-existing conditions (for research purposes three common conditions were selected, namely – high blood pressure, a slipped disc or diabetes). The Best Buys that do not charge extra for pre-existing conditions are highlighted in the Which? 2008 travel insurance report (please go online to www.which.co.uk).
Biba are a broker who specialise in finding cover for those who may struggle with a typical product. Contact them on 0870 950 1790 or online at www.biba.org.uk. You could also try the Insurance surgery on 0800 083 2829 or at www.the-insurance-surgery.co.uk.
You could also maybe consider taking out an annual policy. If you make three or more trips abroad each year, this can work out cheaper than buying a single trip policy – but only if each trip taken is less that 35 days, as annual policies tend to not be valid if you’re travelling for extended periods of time.

I don't have the phone number, but the hospital gave my friend this, when she was having trouble getting insurance for her hubby. This is the link to their site. Hope this helps. http://www.privatehealth.co.uk/healthinsurance/travel-health-insurance/companies/freedom/
