Can please advise me if there is anything I can buy to check the weight of my suitcases? I had quite a shock recently when we were at the airport, as we were charged a lot of money for having overweight luggage.

i weigh myself in kilos on my bathroom scales, then weigh myself again holding the packed suitcase.

Grannyrat said deduct the weight of your case DON'T. Weigh the whole thing as that is what is charged. They don't ask in the airport 'How much does your case weigh before filling', do they? They just put it on the scales and some of these cases can weigh quite a bit. We just use bathroom scales, bit awkward but it can be done.

I put the empty case on bathroom scales and make note of the weight, then fill the case and weigh it again deducting the weight of empty case.
