I'm looking for a holiday, but because I've got pre-existing medical conditions, the cost of insurance is making it impossible for us to afford. Can you suggest a company that may cover me at a more reasonable price?

With overseas medical costs as high as they are, it's understandable why some insurance companies try to minimize their risk.
But when Travel Insurance is becoming more and more a necessity, why should a medical condition make travel prohibitive. Surely this is discrimination?
MIA Online specialise in Travel Insurance that won't break the bank, for people with pre-existing medical conditions. You can read about them online, but because medical conditions vary like they do, give them a call on 01268 782745 for a quote. Be sure to have the age, medical history, travel destination and trip duration details available

I agree with Rob. EHICPlus is effecively a top-up to the EHIC card. It has no age limit and has a very high tolerance for pre-existing medical conditions. They are also pretty cheap, with a couple in their 80s able to get annual multi-trip cover for £66! They have been mentioned twice in The Telegraph and also on the thisismoney website.

Have you tried www.ehicplus.com ? They specialise in European Travel Insurance and do not have any upper age limit and can offer cover for pre-existing medical conditions. We could not believe the price as they are so much cheaper than the other companies we approached. The policy is underwritten by Lloyds. It's definately worth giving them a call - 0845 0555 222

I have a pre existing medical condition, so find it hard to get travel insurance. I have managed to get insurance for this year but it is single trip only....I have got my insurane with SAGA, they are reasonable priced and do cover my condition, this insurance covers both myself and my husband. You could also try Insureandgo and Heath Lambert.......good luck with your quest.
